Brown Man Group + Just for Laughs Chicago = Righteous
So, Just for Laughs was in town this weekend and wouldn't you know it, the Brown Man Group was able to make it out and it was sweet! I heard the shows were amazing. I really wish I could have gone to the Nasty Show with Nick DiPalo, Louis C.K., and Patrice O'Neal. I'm sure that show was hilarious.
So as you can see we got to chill with some amazing comics. David Allen Grier stopped by and oddly walked all the way to the club with a homeless man. It was a very strange incident but we ran into Dave outside the club and he had this short black guy with him. We just thought it was his opening act or an actor friend of his. We get into the club and start talking to Dave and we're like, so where's your buddy at? And he goes, "I don't know that guy, he was just some homeless guy that followed me here!!." Dave was so perplexed, he talked about it like he felt taken advantage of...like, it was really weird. This homeless dude, just followed David Allen Grier from Wacker Drive all the way to the club and he had no idea who he was talking to.
Anyway, after that we got to talking to David Cross who told us that everyone wants the Arrested Development movie to happen, which I was totally psyched about because AD is hysterical and it's the greatest TV show that no one in America saw. But, Cross told us that Fox greenlit the project and they were just waiting for more planning to be done. Other than that, Nick DiPalo was chillin there and then Ian Edwards showed up a little later so it was a pretty sweet night.
Oh and after we left the club, we went to Jo Koy's DVD release part for his new comedy special "Don't Make Him Angry," which you guys have to check out because Jo Koy is an amazing comic. He's been in the game for a long time and his energy on stage is unreal. You gotta see it to believe it. Alright, that's enough out of me. I'll catch you guys soon!
